Sad, sad day

OK, now I'm still trying to hack up a lung, and it's only 60 degrees in here. Out of firewood, depending on one kerosene heater. Brr..we loaned out our others to kids whose houses were chilly with this -2 temps thinking the woodstove would do it's best and keep us toasty. HA! SO here are the last two pieces of wood. I guess we are saving them for when it's REALLY cold! I feel like a character from Dickens....no, not really. We do have wood coming on Wednesday, I hope. And maybe some today? And, I lied, a closer look at the themometer shows it's really 62. I'm so tired of coughing, it's nice to complain about being cold!

Sick! With Boston....

Ugh. SO sick. My January cough is back and I am miserable. Spent all day in bed, abandoning the men to their own cooking. (I smell eggs) My darling Boston, Nellie faithfully slept with me all day. Such a chore for her, I'm sure. She likes nothing better tham me, being warm, and snoring, and not necessarily in that order!

Christmas...

Ok, seriously, it is TIME. The glitter, the tinsel, the trees, (all 5 of them!) must come down. Period. Even though we still have ANOTHER Christmas this weekend. It is time for snowmen and snowflakes. When the garland has been up long enough for spiders to call it home...

Strapped!

After much discussion at the Ravelry meet up in Indy yesterday, I fearlessly stabbed my backpack and Aaron helped poke the straps through the thick felted fabric. I Love it! Now, to attach the magnetic clasp, and done!!

Hey! It's a backpack!

Surprise! It wanted to be a backpack, not a purse! The felted dimensions are 10x8.5. the pointy thing is a magnetic clasp and the grey thing will be a key fob. The clasp is off set to accommodate a water bottle. I can't decide how I'm going to attach the back straps...

Silly project

When my fabulous sister was visiting here I taught her to knit! She learned in one step, of course, being so gifted anyway. We set off for JoAnn's and ended up buying these kinda silly felted purse kits. She went hoe to Steeler Country and promptly began following the directions (I bet). Me, the rebel, decided to whip it up over New Year's and use the Booga Bag pattern, loosely. Then I got to wondering what would felt and what wouldn't, what will work and what won't. So I started adding pockets and key fobs and button tabs and now I'm ready to felt it!

Pre felted dimensions:
Length: measured from edge of bottom to top 19"
Width:15"
Pockets: 1. 8" down from top 6"x4"
2. 8"x6"
3. 5.5" x 5"

What I found in the laundry hamper..

OK, OK, I live with 4 males, it was on the bathroom floor. They can't hit a hamper with a basketball hoop on it! Anyway... TA DA!!!

It's my very first, used up, faded, worn out dishcloth!! I've been knitting long enough to have something wear out!! Ain't that KEWL???
